And my story, is that once I realized how much of a colossal waste of time video games were for me, I began to write. I wrote my first story, Gravity 101, in December of 2010, taking the advice I read from George Martin’s website: begin with writing short stories. The story was published three months later, despite its overwhelmingly grammatical clumsiness. That being said, it’s still one of my favorite stories. It still gives me the chills.
I’ve written 60 stories since, over half of which have been accepted at various publishers. And I have begun my first novel.
I engage in this hobby/passion each day, before the sun rises. I’m usually done by 7:00, and then I’m in my other passion; loving my beautiful wife, and my out-of-this-world children.
My recent success: one of my stories received an “Honorable Mention” at L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest!
